To install and configure MetaMask please see the article linked here.

With MetaMask set up it is now easy to configure a different network.

This is important as by default MetaMask is an Ethereum wallet. At best, it will not work with pages trying to connect on the basis of Binance Smart Chain. At worst, you could lose funds by sending them to addresses you can’t actually use.

So let’s change that!

Just go to the “Settings” to tell the wallet how to use Binance Smart Chain nodes.

In the Browser-Plugin it is easy available to click on the “Ethereum Mainnet” on the top and select “Add Network”:

Use the “Add Network” button

Now you can manually add the Binance Smart Chain as it is not included in MetaMask by default.

Many chains have test nets for developers, but here is the “real” network setting for the “mainnet”:

Network Name:
Binance Smart Chain

New RPC URL:
https://bsc-dataseed.binance.org/

ChainID:
56

Symbol:
BNB

Block Explorer URL:
https://bscscan.com

If it looks like this all you need to do is “Save”:

Just these few entries and you are ready!

Now you are ready for receiving BNB, BUSD and other compatible tokens via the protocol option BSC or sometimes called BEP20for example from you Binance account.
